    1. Who we are

    IMG Navigator Australia is an independent guidance service for international medical graduates (IMGs) and specialist IMGs considering practice in Australia. We are not affiliated with Ahpra, the Medical Board of Australia, the Australian Medical Council (AMC), specialist medical colleges, Australian state or federal government agencies, hospitals, or employers.

    2. Australian Privacy Principles

    We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where we act as an organisation subject to the Act, we take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

    3. What personal information we collect

    We only collect personal information you choose to provide via our enquiry form and related communications:

    • Contact details: first name, email address, phone number (optional)
    • Professional context: qualification, specialty, current pathway stage (e.g. standard, competent authority, specialist, expedited), country of primary qualification if you include it
    • Message content: anything you write in the enquiry message field
    • Technical information: consent preference for cookies stored in your browser localStorage, and basic device information from standard server logs

    We do not collect sensitive health information about patients, Medicare numbers, Ahpra registration numbers, or financial information via the website.

    • Through your direct email replies after an enquiry
    • Via localStorage in your browser for cookie consent preference only

    5. Purpose of collection

    We collect personal information to:

    • Respond to your enquiry and provide requested informational guidance about IMG pathways

Your data is processed in Australia where practicable via the provider's infrastructure. Access is restricted to authorised personnel only.

    We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may disclose it only in these limited circumstances:

    • To trusted service providers who support our website and CRM, only to the extent necessary to operate the service

We will take reasonable steps to respond within a reasonable timeframe. For deletion requests we will remove your record from our active CRM where we are not legally required to retain it.

    We take reasonable steps to protect personal information using technical and organisational measures such as encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and restricted CRM access. No internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, but we work to maintain appropriate safeguards.

    10. Retention

    We retain enquiry records only for as long as needed to respond to your enquiry, provide follow-up guidance you request, and meet legal or administrative requirements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.

    11. Children

    Our website is intended for qualified and trainee doctors who are adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our form, please contact us via the homepage and we will take appropriate steps.
